The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted

i'm try to add a dc 2012 r2 machine to an existing domain dc 2008 r2
while try to Specified the domain information and supply the credentials to the existing domain
i get the error "The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted"

also i see many and couple of guides that indicates how to add well
and still the error message shows

any suggestions?

Thanks for posting,

Following the error message: "The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted"
At the beginning I suggest to check Your connectivity network between 2 machines DC.
Next I want to know what's DC 2012 R2 function level domain did You install & configure on?

as you have mentioned i check the network connectivity
and fall there when the fqdn of my dc 2008 r2 is oldest from the current one

after change dns records and update the raw + restart dns service- i successfully done with it
